If the weather was any indication of the kind of day that was in store, then we knew we were destined for a good one. I love watching our camp parents reconnect with their sons. As a dad, I understand the intense love that a parent feels for their child. I often remark that when one has a baby, it’s the most dramatic change in one’s life. Yet, it often feels so natural.

We care for our children and manage all of their needs. Entrusting them to others at a residential camp is the ultimate vote of confidence. I hope that today, our parents were able to see the value in sending your son to camp.

Throughout the day, parents remarked on how confident their son seemed. They loved witnessing the determination as they watched their sons waterski, climb our 50-foot wall, and compete against others in league games. They loved watching the connections that have been formed this summer and how comfortable their son was navigating from activity to activity around our beautiful campus. We intentionally run our regular program so that we can allow parents to live a day in the life of their child and witness what takes place every day.

I’m so proud of our staff. From the moment they arrived in mid-June, they have devoted themselves to this camp and our mission to create a healthy, safe, and enriching environment for our boys. I hope that when parents put their heads on their pillows this evening and take a moment to reflect on the day, they can sleep soundly knowing that their boys are thriving.
