Yesterday’s Values for Today’s Boys
Since 1947, our focus has remained constant – to provide a full-season summer camp experience that helps each boy develop the many facets of his unlimited potential. Our fundamental emphasis — brought home through sports and a wide range of activities and special events — is to instill strong moral and ethical standards that build character. Time-tested values such as integrity, honesty, compassion, and respect are the foundation of the Camp Takajo experience.

Prospective Families
For over 70 years, parents have trusted Camp Takajo to provide a safe and stimulating environment that inspires boys to embrace the highest standards of integrity. Our attention to detail reflects our commitment to honor the confidence you place in us by entrusting your son to our care.
Share your son with us for the summer and he – and you – will forever be part of our Camp Takajo family!
Staff
The most important aspects of being a Takajo counselor are the relationships you develop with your campers and the example you model through your own behavior. Staff members are hired based on character, stability, interest in working with children, warmth, personality, and ability in a specialty.
There is no greater trust than that placed in us by parents, and no greater expectation than theirs for our complete dedication and attention to their sons.
Alumni
Our alumni are an integral part of the Camp Takajo experience. The deep-rooted relationships that start in Bunk Chinkatink and Chuckatuck are evident in the lifelong friendships that carry forward through college, family life and career.
We have created an alumni website that not only allows former campers to stay connected with friends from camp, but provides opportunities to reach out to other Takajo alums when beginning the search for college, applying for internships, or seeking professional advice.
