Camp Takajo Staff Party 2014

While there are still two weeks left in the summer and so much to accomplish before your boys return home, last night we took a moment to celebrate our amazing staff at our annual staff party. The Camp Takajo Staff Party is a time for the administration to join me in creating a fun-filled night of music and laughter, while serving a meal fit for a king. Our staff was treated to a lobster and ribs meal with seafood chowder, prepared by our head chef, Mike DeBerry, and served by myself along with my administrative staff.

Just like in any organization, sometimes we get so ensconced in our work that we don’t take the time to say a proper thank you. This night is dedicated to our staff and our way of showing appreciation for a job well done. I’m a firm believer that a small gesture can go a long way. It can sometimes be challenging managing a staff of two hundred people during a summer season. The greatest form of compensation that our staff receives is knowing that they made a positive impact on your children.

I can cite countless examples of watching our men and woman go above and beyond the call of duty every day– encouraging a child to reach higher on the climbing wall, or having the patience and fortitude to circle that ski boat around one more time, knowing this could the “the moment.” Our staff stand out in the hot sun teaching tennis and can get trapped in a rec. hall on a rainy day playing bingo. Our counselors are adaptable. They are willing to put their needs aside for your children. I am grateful to be surrounded by such a fine group of individuals, and I know that their time spent here this summer has been meaningful to your son.

Warriors- After a great finish in yesterday’s round robin tennis tournament, Warriors returned to their normal schedules.

Juniors- Beginning final preparations for the Junior show, which will be performed tomorrow evening.

Seniors- Okees enjoyed off-roading in Hummer trucks in Moah, Utah yesterday.
