Camp Takajo Western Trip 2014

As is tradition at Camp Takajo, Sunday is lazy man’s morning, including a late wake-up. It was no different for us on this trip. Everyone was happy with the 9:00 AM wake up. At 10:30, we left the hotel and went to Bryce Canyon National Park. Unfortunately, the skies were not cooperating, and there was a steady rain. This prevented us from going too far into the canyon.

We were able to hike a half-mile section of the rim of the canyon that provided many great spots for the Okees to take pictures. The landscape was unreal. The red, to orange, to white shades of rocks and the unique rock formations, called hoodoos, are rarely found anywhere else. The rain forced us to grab lunch and seek refuge on the bus. We had dinner at a restaurant near the hotel and finished the day with a movie. The rain prevented us from hiking down into the canyon but not from having a good time. Tomorrow, we are in Vegas! The part of the trip the Okees are looking forward to most.
