Camp Takajo in Naples, Maine, USA

When Reville sounded, our Seniors could not wait to jump out of bed. For our Inters and Subs, this was a day our boys had been waiting for the entire summer. It is Big Trip week at Camp Takajo for our Seniors, and all the preparation and anticipation has finally become a reality.

Sixteen Sub Seniors departed for Vanceboro, Maine, where they pitched tents and set up camp in preparation for the first day on the river canoeing through the cape. Our golfers are in for a fantastic week traveling to some of the most excellent courses in Maine; equipped with dry-fit polos and all the golf balls they can fit in their bag; these eighth graders are in for a special treat.

Our Intermediates (finished seventh grade) boarded a motorcoach and made their way towards Bean Town, where among many special treats, they are excited to make their way to Fenway tomorrow evening to see the Red Sox play in that iconic ballpark.

After a great sleep out, our Eagles (finished fourth grade) returned home this morning from Swan Falls, just in time for breakfast and a well-needed hot shower. After a great day of activities, our Eagles were invited to my house for a movie night, the polar opposite experience from what they experienced last evening.

Our Juniors (finished fifth or sixth grades) took advantage of the hot sunny day in camp, playing sports and getting down to the waterfront. Throughout the day, we heard whispers about the excitement brewing as our twelve-year-olds made their way to Camp Vega for an evening social.

At the same time, our eleven-year-olds hosted the Camp Vega ladies at our place. We took boys interested in a round of golf to Bridgeton Highlands Golf Course, while our Crows and Hawks had a day filled with team sports, hobbies, and play.

As we enter week five, big trips and special events are planned for all age levels, just enough of a break in our routine to keep things exciting for all our boys.
