The pace at Camp Takajo continues to pick up, and the enthusiasm level is at an all-time high. Our Warrior Crows (finished first or second grades) wolfed down their breakfast and ran to the busses, excited to get to Story Land Amusement Park. They spent the day enjoying the rides, eating snow cones and cotton candy, and came home tired and fulfilled.

The Junior Greens (finished fifth grade) spent the morning in camp in a regular program but boarded busses after lunch and headed to their overnight big trip at Pleasant Mountain. Home to one of Maine’s popular ski resorts, Pleasant Mountain is a great place to hike and explore during the summer. Our boys will hunker down in the ski lodge and enjoy some bonding time away from camp.

Camp Takajo in Naples, Maine, USAOur Subseniors (finished eighth grade) are on the road again, this time heading to Canada where they will enjoy the sights. They will begin their trip by having a nice dinner and exploring Old Quebec City by taking in the popular Ghost Walk tour. Over the next few days, they will visit the largest waterpark in Canada, explore Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, enjoy Montreal’s Six Flags La Ronde Amusement Park, and will finish their trip on a Jet Boating adventure before returning to camp Friday night.

We continue to get amazing updates from our Okees out west and are approaching the final leg of their trip in Las Vegas, Nevada, taking in the age-appropriate sights, before returning home on Wednesday.

Our Senior Intermediates (finished seventh grade) have been enjoying a series of all-star challenges, including a massive water polo game down at the waterfront. Our thirteen-year-olds are enjoying being the oldest boys in camp and love the privileges, such as a later bedtime and use of the Senior Rec Hall.

The Junior Greys (finished sixth grade) have been invited to experience the Senior program to see what is in store for them next summer. These Juniors are playing their sports on our larger Senior fields, spending the day interacting with the Intermediates, and enjoying the use of our tennis, hockey, and basketball facilities under the lights, as well as the privileges associated with the Senior Rec Hall.

While the forecast indicates more humid temperatures are on the way, our boys remained cool and calm while making the most of everything that camp has to offer.
