The hot sticky weather has finally made its way to Maine. Nevertheless, our boys filled their water bottles so they could remain hydrated while enjoying our summer camp activities.
Jordan Baltimore, from NY Empire Baseball, has arrived. This week, we are offering all boys of all age levels and abilities, the opportunity to specialize in baseball. His clinics are fun, informative, and he keeps all boys engaged throughout his session. When our boys were not in a baseball clinic, they played soccer and flag football. We turned on the underground irrigation system, which cooled them off while they were playing. What a refreshing way to play sports on a hot summer day.
As you might imagine, the waterfront was a very popular place to be. The water ski boats were going from morning to night. Every canoe and sailboat was in operation, and every camper took a refreshing dip. Our Junior Green campers (finishing 5th grade) and our Intermediates (finishing 7th grade) spent the day at Old Orchard Beach and an amusement park. This trip has always been a camp favorite and is a great change of pace after two weeks of sports and summer camp activities. At the end of the day, the camp came together for a barbecue, where we enjoyed burgers on the beach overlooking Long Lake. It was a beautiful day at Camp Takajo.
