We woke up this Sunday morning to our Lazy Man’s Morning schedule. Our boys had a chance to get a little extra (and much-needed) sleep, followed by a causal Dunkin’ Donuts breakfast in the dining hall.

Camp Takajo for Boys in Maine 07_24_2015_O_VisitingDay_017I must admit, it is a great feeling to have visiting day behind us and be able to get back into our normal camp routine. The morning was filled with an organized, free play period. Takajo campers had an opportunity to spend time doing their favorite activities.

After lunch, we performed our weekly nurses’ inspection. This is when the same nurse each week inspects your child head to toe. Naturally, we are looking for rashes, bug bites, sore throats, or any other ailments that could pop up during the summer. This is especially important this week because our senior campers are departing on their big trips in the morning.

Camp Takajo for Boys in Maine As promised, we went bunk by bunk removing the excessive amount of candy and junk food leftover from the weekend.  While the boys had a chance to enjoy their treats last night at the movies, I feel that it is my role to “act as a reasonable parent would” and therefore couldn’t possibly allow the boys to consume the sugar and other junk that was dropped of at camp.  We are expecting hot, humid weather to reach Maine for the remainder of the week. Here’s to making every moment of every day count!
