Let the countdown begin! With just a few hours remaining before the start of Camp Takajo’s Visiting Day Weekend, I can only imagine the excitement and anticipation that must consume your soul. Visiting days are an incredibly joyous opportunity to reconnect with your son and show a glimpse into his life away from home.

You will have the opportunity to meet wonderful Takajo counselors, who have worked tirelessly at helping your child learn new skills, develop self-confidence, win with humility and lose with grace and dignity. You will meet your child’s bunkmates and friends, who have been enjoying the “ultimate sleepover party.”

We are anticipating unseasonably cool temperatures that will only reach the low seventies– perfect visiting day weather. We have prepared a delicious lunch for you and will do everything in our power to make this a special day that you will always remember.

Please remember that it is natural for campers and parents to be unusually emotional, especially as we approach the end of the day.  While saying goodbye is difficult, our counselors be with your son to help him transition back to into his routine.

Please be reasonable with what you bring into camp tomorrow. Your children need your presence more than your presents. We do not have the space in the cabins for unnecessary toys, nor the room in our health center to manage all the upset stomachs that occur when parents go overboard with candy and snacks. Here’s to a wonderful weekend!
