What’s Happening at Camp Takajo- June 26, 2014

By June 26, 2014 January 4th, 2019 Tak Talk

As I sit in my office with the evening sun setting over Long Lake, I reflect on our great week of staff orientation. I can’t help but think about what is going through the minds of our parents and campers, all around the country, preparing to leave for camp tomorrow. I know there are children who are filled with overwhelming excitement, while others are filled with nervous anticipation and fear. As adults, we know that some of our greatest triumphs were not met until we overcame fear. Whether it was getting up in front of a crowd to give a speech, or having the nerve to introduce ourselves to our spouse. It is only now that we can look back at the value we gained by having the “nerve.”

Many of your sons will wake up in the morning and be nervous about what is in store for them this summer. “Will my counselors be nice? Will I like the food? Who will be there for me if I am having a sad moment?” Please rest assured that we have assembled an outstanding staff; that our facility is in the best shape ever, and that we are all committed to the health and emotional well-being of your children. Here’s to a wonderful summer at Camp Takajo!
