As the sun set on Long Lake this evening and we complete another magnificent day of summer weather, I am anticipating the start of an amazing week in camp.
While Camp Takajo just said goodbye to our soccer specialist, who ran high-level clinics for the past week, we welcome outside professional coaches for basketball (for the next two weeks), baseball (for the next week), and two professional lacrosse players from the New York Lizards, who are here running high-level clinics through Tuesday.
While we pride ourselves on being a well-rounded camp known for our diversity of activities, we recognize that a lot of campers want to have an opportunity to specialize in the sport(s) of their choice. These visiting coaches and players give our campers the opportunity to opt out of their normally scheduled program each day, to focus on the sport of their choice. For the camper who has an interest in multiple sports, time is built into his schedule to cross train.
