What’s Happening at Camp Takajo- July 19, 2013

Today, I learned a very valuable lesson; clean living pays off. With the deck stacked against us, and every forecast calling for unprecedented heat and humidity, somehow someway, we had a nice breeze come in across Long Lake, making the visiting day temperatures more than bearable.Smiles at Camp Takajo

Bright sunshine, blue skies, and lots of swimming at Camp Takajo made our first visiting day one for the record books. Tomorrow is another day. The forecast calls for some type of storm to roll through camp midday, bringing hard rains and when it’s all over, cooler temperatures.

There are a number of neighboring camps that have sent out mass e-mails that said to take their children out of camp all day, because they don’t have adequate space to accommodate the visitors during unsettled weather.Smiles at Camp Takajo

We will stay the course and run our program. We have created provisions in the case of a brewing storm. Our staff will be prepared to respond immediately to a shift in the weather, and will direct you to the largest, closest building in camp. Please help us help you and your child, by following our instructions and moving under cover swiftly. By all accounts, this will literally be a blip on the radar, and the majority of our program will be outdoors and in full swing. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.
