What’s Happening at Camp Takajo? July 30, 2012

Jeff’s Thoughts:
The biggest limitations are the ones we place on ourselves.
It’s human nature to gravitate towards the things that fall within our comfort zone. Camp is a perfect place for children to reach outside that zone and explore a wide range of amazing activities. There’s nothing like seeing the thrill of a child who has gotten up on water-skis for the first time, or climbed to the top of our 50 ft. climbing wall. I have often stood below our tree houses and listened to a bunk of campers giggle themselves to sleep. The exuberance radiated from our group of 14-year-olds who just returned home from a 5-day excursion canoeing down the St. Croix River. These opportunities can only occur at camp. At Camp Takajo, we encourage our boys to challenge themselves in an effort to complete the summer with no regrets. The biggest limitations are the ones we place on ourselves.
