What’s Happening at Camp Takajo? July 10, 2012

By July 10, 2012 January 14th, 2019 Tak Talk

Jeff’s Thoughts:

Magnanimity:  Today, our 10-year-old boys (WR Indians) had field day competition with Camp Winaukee.  A Camp Takajo field day is when every camper participates in three games during the course of the day. One of the sports was lacrosse.  Various Takajo teams were playing a number of games simultaneously when the lacrosse game was scheduled; several boys expressed interest in playing lacrosse.  Before the counselors had an opportunity to select a team, a few of the campers, knowing how important this lacrosse game was to some of their friends, volunteered to play a different sport so that others could play in the lacrosse game. Magnanimity.

  • What a beautiful string of perfect weather days we have had here in Maine!  Low 80’s, low humidity, bluebird skies and lots of sun each day.
  • The Sub Seniors returned from the whitewater rafting trip with the Camp Vega girls tonight just in time to see the MLB All-Star game.
  • The MLB All-Star Game was shown tonight on our new, inflatable movie screen right on the Commons Deck, under the stars.
  • Tomorrow is Cook Out night. We will be treated to some live music supplied by our Senior campers and eat some fresh grilled burgers out in front of the MJG Playhouse.
