Takajo Swim Meet 2021

We continue to mix in some incredibly fun events for our campers and staff, and the results are paying dividends. The continuation of the magnificent weather only helped to create the vibe we are looking to achieve as we head down the home stretch. Our Juniors and Seniors are in the last days of their second round of league competition. Team scores are close at all age levels, and there is no clear front runner to win the title.

After a morning that had all fields and courts in use with all the hobbies in full swing, we took a break to come together for an all-camp swim meet. We had close to 100 campers, representing all age levels, compete in this camp-wide event. The beach was filled with competitors, bunkmates, and staff cheering on all the swimmers. The swim staff was in their red lifeguard swim gear, and under the direction of our swim coach, Nick Andreacci, and Waterfront Director, Bob Lewis, the meet offered our boys the opportunity to compete in all strokes for boys of all ability levels.

After dinner, our Warrior and Junior campers came together in our Playhouse for the Junior Big Show, The Addams Family. This play was the perfect way to end a great day. To the delight of our audience, our Junior thespians displayed impeccable timing and sang their songs with gusto. As with all camp events, we ended the evening singing the camp alma mater.

SportsmanshipIt’s heartwarming to see our youngest boys now stand with their older counterparts, singing our camp song with pride. After Taps, we hosted another staff party. This week’s theme was karaoke. The counselors had a ball as they entertained themselves singing to their heart’s delight. The weeks continue to fly by. We are on the eve of another Lazy Man’s Morning, the second to last Dunkin’ Donuts breakfast. It’s all going way too fast.
