If it has to rain, let it happen now rather than on visiting day. We woke up this morning to grey skies and misty rain. After a typical Sunday morning (Lazy Man’s morning) complete with Dunkin’ Donuts for breakfast, our boys who have sisters and cousins at Camps Vega, Mataponi, Fernwood, and Pinecliffe left to spend the afternoon reconnecting with loved ones. As they said goodbye after a fun afternoon, tears quickly turned into smiles as they realized they would all see each other again this Wednesday at the Takajo Carnival.
Tonight, was the Senior big show, West Side Story. I always marvel at how our senior boys manage to participate in a full day of activities, inter-camp competition and trips, yet still manage to make time for play practice. With unsettled skies, it was the perfect night for the entire camp to come together in the Takajo MJG Playhouse and watch these Senior boys shine under the spotlights.
With less than a week before visiting day weekend, I can feel the excitement in the air, as our campers are looking forward to reuniting with you.
